online yoga class
Tuesday evening Seasonal movements 7.45-8.45pm.
A class inspired and in connection with the seasons and nature. Bringing movements that suit the energy of the time we are in and working into areas of the body that will most benefit from the space and the strength as we negotiate the changing seasonal climate we inhabit. This class is suitable for all levels however in the summer months we bring the energy up a little. As always you will be encouraged to rest when you feel the need and alternatives postures are always offered.
1:1 yoga online
Sessions will be tailored to suit you, using a combination of movement, breathwork, deep relaxation, energetic and mediative practices. These sessions are particularly useful if you are new to yoga or uncomfortable in a group class, have injury or illness or need a specific practice to support your mental health or work/sport/lifestyle. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any questions of me to book.

midwinter dreamtime ~ Meditations for the inbetween
wednesday evenings 8-8.45pm 5th November - 17th december
Inviting you around the fire 🔥
The time that is held between Samhain and the winter Solstice carries a potency like no other time. It feels ancient yet is brand new, it is a time of connection to our ancestors whilst being firmly rooted in the present. By opening up spaces for meditation we provide a place to sit in presence, to bear witness, to be nowhere else but here. It is the wisdom that can be found within ourselves in these quiet places that helps guide us through life and build the ways of being we want for ourself. The patterns of being that we craft now don’t just affect us but reverberate to those around as and through time to affect the lives of all of those yet to come.
I would like to offer a series of seven meditation practices to sit between the Celtic start of winter ~ Samhain and the longest night ~ The Winter Solstice. This block of meditations will introduce the concept of allies that exist within the natural world and who’s qualities can perhaps encourage, inspire and accompany us. A presence to reassure us as we navigate life. Each session will introduce one of nature’s allies to join us on our meditation journey.

the cailleach steps forward ~ An online practice for Samhain Friday 31st October 7.45-9pm
As the Cailleach, the goddess of winter awakens from her slumber, we welcome in the aspect of ourselves that exists within the darkness of the winter months. You are invited into a practice that embraces the energy of winter, challenging the dread of it. This can be a difficult time of year for many and yet there is also a great deal of beauty held in the dark. Through connecting to the water element and movement practices that support it rather than working against it and allowing the descent into winter, we can find a quieter time with space for rest, inner enquiry and spiritual connection.
We will gather on this Samhain night which marks The Cailleach’s step forward and which offers a special connection to our ancestry and to the stories that are held in the land of our home and of our birth, a hearth point.
This practice will include some gentle movement and deep relaxation.
words from students
“I have been in Emily’s yoga classes for several years. When l went at first I was nervous because I am a bit older than others in the class Emily put me at ease immediately with her understanding of the subject and her understanding of the varying capabilities of her students Her classes are never always the same and that is a really good thing I have really enjoyed my yoga journey with Emily at the helm It is never too late to start yoga when you have such a good teacher,”

“I’ve done classes with Emily for many years and I can’t praise her highly enough! The friendly calming atmosphere, and her soft voice, soothe and stretch all your tensions away. You leave feeling mentally relaxed and physically energised!”

I love Emily’s teaching. She is warm and welcoming when you attend class and has managed to continue that on zoom. She encourages you to pay really good attention to your own body so that you know when to go a bit further with the options she offers or pull back a little to ease into the practice. Classes always feel fresh and well planned and she seems genuinely interested in all her students. I’ve been attending her classes for over three years and look forward to continuing with her. I can’t recommend her highly enough. Oh....she’s also good fun!

“Thank you for the lovely class Emily. As always you create a comfortable space with the warmth of your welcome whether online or in the studio. Your guidance throughout the class reminds me to be mindful of my own body and doing what feels best on a particular day. I have learned so much from you about the breath, meridian lines ,the connection to the seasons and to the cycle of the moon. I always feel calm and renewed at the end of the class.
I feel so grateful to be able to continue practising yoga with you through these strange times.
With a grateful heart
Margaret x”
